On Sunday, May 18th, we’ll be holding the Fuji (Wisteria) Festival in Ichinohe!
This seasonal event celebrates the stunning bloom of our local wisteria flowers—featured on the new Japanese ¥5,000 bill and known from the popular anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
There will be:
Traditional performances
Local cuisine (yakitori, yakisoba, sweets, hittsumi soup)
Live DJing and music
Fun booths, bonsai displays, and even police motorcycle exhibits 🏍🎶
I'll also be there representing the Local Revitalization Team, offering tea and chatting casually with visitors.
It’s a great chance for travelers to experience rural Japan, and I believe it could be of interest to people visiting from Morioka, Hachinohe, or even further afield!
